The ancestor of today's pump shotgun lock had been designed by Smith & Wesson in the 1930's. The original design was so good that it remained virtualy unchanged for 54 years.
In 1987 we drilled a big hole in the side of a copycat of the original Smith & Wesson gun lock and installed a camlock in the hole so the lock can be opened manually if there is a power failure.
Voila! There is your current pump shotgun lock—simple, reliable and fits most standard pump shotguns.
